Session 1: Single-Element Study

Elements in the creation of photographs can refer to aspects of an image such as color, texture, patterns, shapes, tones, and juxtaposition. Most of the time when we snap a picture, we are composing it out of multiple elements.

For the first photo prompt of the Contemplative Vision group, participants were asked to focus on just a single element. Once settled on an element, participants were sent out into the world to find examples of that element and take 2-3 pictures of it. Their photo responses are below.
